HOLA!!!
Well I dont have too many things to report from this week because I feel like I just wrote to you all... But here is the rundown from the rest of the week:
-Thursday: So the temple trip was amazing! And afterward we ate Taco Bell, so I was one happy camper! :) Then later we visited Gabriela, and well she told us that she wants us to keep visiting her, but that she is going to need more time before she can commit to getting baptized. That was kinda sad. Then we also visited the Ixquiac family, and were able to talk with them about why the aren’t going to church.. they opened up with us, and committed to go to church (...although on Sunday they didn’t show up...) Then we also went with the Grijalva family, and we showed them a video and it was perfect for them (and they gave us brownies!).
-Friday: WOW, it was nothing what we expected. In the morning, we got a call from the Elders telling us that a taxi was going to pass by our house in 30 min to take us to the house of some other sisters because they were having some serious problems. Well, 3 hours later we get back to our house just in time to start divisions with other Hermanas that were also having some problems… It made me really appreciate my companion... And well we don’t know if we are going to have to be in a trio or not... we will see this week. But in the evening the Grijalva family (knowing that we were with 3 other sisters) called us to invite all of us to eat dinner. They are so wonderful! And it was the perfect way to end such a stressful day!
-Saturday: The biggest miracle was that we found the Chiguichon Family. Some of the family members are inactive, and others aren’t members. We have gone for over a month trying to teach them, but they always have an excuse. But the bishop had told us that he wants us to visit them every week, so we keep trying. And well it paid off, because the lesson went great. The mom opened up to us about why she isn’t going to church, and her daughters (who aren’t members) were excited to listen to us, and really want to go to church. In the end they said that yes, they will come to church with us in the next few weeks. And then in the evening as we were heading for our house, we passed by the house of an Hermana, and my companion and I both felt like we should stop to remind her of church in the morning. Well, let me tell you how thankful I was that the Spirit told us to do that. We got in and she was an emotional wreck. She explained some of the things that have been happening with her husband. And well we went at the perfect moment to listen to her. And in the end she thanked us so much for passing by to see her. And yes, she did go to church on Sunday, and said that she felt much better!
-Sunday: Well Byron and Ana Maria went to church again! They are loving it so much! And more and more people stop to say hi to them! It is wonderful!
Well those are the highlights from the week!
Ponderizing: Luke 11:35 “Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.” Lately we have talked and studied a lot about light. In December the phrase was LIGHT THE WORLD. We know as members of the church we have a light, we have the Spirit. But we also know that our light can be dimmed if we don't make the right choices. I love in Luke 11:34 how it says that “The light of the body is the eye” You often hear people say that “There was a light in his eyes.” I want to encourage you all to find a way this week that you can have a little more light in your eyes! :)
Love you all!
