Week 44

HOLA TODOS!!!!
Well this week went by crazy fast! Like the fastest ever. It is starting to freak me out how fast time can fly!!!

But Monday we had a Noche de Hogar! It went so well! We talked about the importance of reading and praying every day. We asked Carlos if he could tell us anything about what he has been reading, and he started to tell us like every detail of the story of Nephi! It was just about one of the best moments ever! I love when investigators get all excited about the Book of Mormon Stories that they are reading!

We also had divisions with the Hermanas in Zacapa! It was pretty fun to go to their area and work with them! We were able to find lots of new families and commit lots of people to baptism! It was super!

Friday we made mint chocolate cookies with a sister in the Branch. She was so amazed at how easy they were!! And now everyone wants us to make them cookies! :)

We went over the baptismal questions with Carlos and Jorge and they both knew the answer to every single question! I honestly think that seminary is just about the best thing ever. It has helped them grow so much! And the teacher is amazing.

So Olga, the sister of Jorge and Carlos, accepted a date to get baptized!!!! We just have to pray and fast real hard that her mom´s heart will be softened so that she will let her also get baptized!

Ponderizing: D&C 138:31 So I know that this is talking about the people in the Spirit World, but I like to think it applies to us as missionaries too! :)

Well sorry I am rushed for time, but love you all!!

Week 44

Wow folks, it has already been 10 Months! That is the craziest thing ever!!!!

Well this week was wonderful! Here are the highlights!
-Carlos (the brother of Jorge) went to seminary ALL week! And then he went to Church yesterday!! He is also going to Family Home Evening and all of the other activities that we have! Oh, and one night Jorge asked him why he was going to get baptized again, and Carlos said,  ¨well the first time I got baptized it wasn't with authority.¨ I was like WOW, the Spirit really does teach, because we haven't ever straight up said that to him! But he gets it! :)

-Jorge: He is also doing great as always! But this week we were able to get his mom to sign his permission to get baptized! We were worried before we went to talk to her because Jorge told us that she was against him getting baptized, but when we talked to her she was fine and signed it!!

Well we have been seeing lots of miracles this week. And we have been able to find lots of new people to teach. I have been able to see this week the blessings that come from being obedient with exactness. The biggest blessing is that WE are HAPPIER!!!

Ponderizing: D&C 136:31 and 42. I love these verses!

Well love you all! Sorry I don't have much time today!!

Week 43

Howdy!!!

Well folks, this week was a pretty great one! It was also one full of goodbyes! :( BUT HEY I have a new companion, and she is super!!! I have only spent like 20 min with her, but can already tell that it is going to be a great 6 weeks!!! She is from California, and her name is Hermana Elizondo!

Well as for this week, we had Concilio (Leadership Councilon Tuesday, so that was pretty great to go to the capital and be able to see old friends!! It was also one of the most powerful meetings I have been in on my mission. I sure do love being able to listen to President Crapo. He is such an inspiring man.

We also had divisions this week and were able to see a lot of miracles! We were able to commit 2 new people to get baptized! That was awesome! One is Carlos, he is the brother of Jorge!

Ohhhhh and speaking of Jorge, on Monday while we were in the Capital, we arranged for Jorge and his sister Olga to go to a Family Home Evening with the Branch President and they went and had a blast! The wife of President Paz teaches seminary and after the FHE she invited them to go this week, and guess what, THEY WENT EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! And one day it was just them 2 and their other non member friend that went to seminary!!!! How awesome is that! And then they BOTH went to church on Sunday! They are just wonderful!
Well they have been like the highlight of the week. :)

Well today I said goodbye to 3 of my 4 companions :( It was a little rough. But I was also able to see Hermana Geronimo, so that was also great!

Ponderizing: D&C 128:15 I love this scripture because it reminded me of how we need the temple ordinances just as much as those who have passed on. We can become better people by going to the temple and doing the work for others.

Well love you all so much!!!

Um just so you guys know.... WE ARE IN PANTS!!!! We are now allowed to wear them
when we are proselyting to prevent the bug bites!

Happy 4th of July!

Oh here is evidence that I stayed in red white and blue on the 4th of July...
Yes I am still American!!! :)

Week 42

Happy 4th of July!!!!! Hope you all enjoy your watermelon, fireworks, and time with family and friends!! We celebrated today with a nice hike (I sent pictures).

Well this week went pretty well! Here are the highlights:

-We had a Noche de Hermanamiento, which is kind of like a Family Home Evening, but with families and investigators in every neighborhood. We had a great turn out in our area!

-We had a superb District Meeting! We talked about enduring to the end and setting goals. Both things I can improve! :)

-In divisions Martha accepted a date to get baptized!! She is awesome, and basically already a member. She is the mother of Maritza that got baptized about a month ago. Martha just needs to get married to her husband...

-Also, Melvin, (the son of Maribel that got baptized last week) accepted a date to get baptized!!!

-There was an activity for the Youth in Zacapa, and we had 9 investigators that went!! We weren´t able to go, but they all loved it!!

-We had some members of the district that came to weigh children and see if they are underweight, or have any problems. We had lots of our investigators that were able to get vitamins and incaprina for their kids.

-My companions had their final interviews with the president. That was a little sad..

Ponderizing: D&C 112:14 and 28 I love the invitations in these verses.

Well love you all!!!
