Week 2

Well thank you all for your prayers, I am no longer sick and everything is wonderful!!

Lets see, so this week was full of ups and downs.. as to be expected! Last week on p-day we were able to go to the temple, and the session was in English! It was absolutely amazing! So calming.

My compañera and I sang in church yesterday, it went well!! We sang "I'll find you my friend." Sundays are by FAR the best in the CCM!! And the only meeting in spanish is sacrament meeting! So we can be edified and uplifted in our native language!

Our Latina roommates will be leaving tomorrow for their missions. I am really going to miss those 2! They have made me so excited to go out into the field! They are so easy to love!! We have labeled just about everything in our room so that we can talk with them more! It has really helped!

We got a new "investigator" this week! And we have already got him to commit to baptism! Except that my compañera (companion) accidentally asked if he would get baptized this Saturday instead of next Saturday, because she forgot the number! But he still agreed!! She felt so bad, but I was like "Hey, he said yes!! So we can always move it back!"

We had to talk to a real less active on Saturday... that was stressful!! We walk in to class, and our teacher is like, hey guys, you have 10 minutes to prepare, we have less actives down the hall.... AHHHHH but it went alright... we just couldn't say like HALF of what we wanted to to our less active.

Tomorrow we are going to this big market for p-day. They have to have everyone out for half of the day to clean (if that doesn't tell you how small our facility is... then I don't know what will! haha) before the new missionaries come in on wednesday! There are 140 missionaries here right now, and there are 4 districts that leave for the field tomorrow! ANYWAY so at the market we have been challenged to pass out like 3 copies of the Libro de Mormón! I am super pumped!! It'll be FAB!!

Well that is about it!
Love you all!

Week 1

Well everything that you told me about missions was right!! I´ll admit it! :)

So to start off, on the plane ride from Vegas to LA, I gave the man I was sitting by a Book of Mormon. He was from Sydney, Australia, and was so sweet! It was fantastic! Then when we got to the LA airport, there ended up being 40 other missionaries that were coming to the Guatemala City MTC as well! It was quite joyous.

My companion is the best! :) She reminds me of our cousin Heather Hansen! We get along so well!! We have 2 Latina roommates! They are my favorite! They don't speak much English, so we have become really good actresses! And we have learned a LOT from them!! They are both the only members in their families! Their faith and love for Christ and this gospel is so admirable.

It rains everyday and it is wonderful!!

The food is amazing... although I have been super sick for the last 4 days.

Everyone that works here speaks Spanish, so sometimes it can be overwhelming and difficult to ask for help! Our teachers are wonderful! We have class basically all day! And 99% of the time they are in Spanish, which is good, but difficult!

We role play with our teacher as a companionship, and after the 3rd lesson he agreed to be baptized! It was wonderful even though it wasn't really real :)

Soooo on the 3rd day I was super stressed out about the language (more than normal) and then my companion said, well you were speaking Spanish last night while you were asleep! Apparently I said "No yo tengo, no yo tengo!" Which means I don't have... not sure what I was dreaming about!! :) And then the next night my dream was all in Spanish! I woke up so freaked out and drenched in sweat! NO BUENO!!!

Well I sure love you all!! My preparation day is on Tuesday next week! Let me know if you have any questions!!
